EXPERIENCE
I am a qualified counsellor experienced in working with adults who present with a range of issues. These issues include anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, loss, Domestic Abuse and workplace issues. Although my counselling approach is Humanistic Gestalt, I employ Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques in the process if I think it will support you.
Before entering private practice, I worked in the voluntary sector counselling adults from across all sectors of the community. During this time, I gained considerable experience in delivering time-limited therapy (6 sessions) and working with clients who had experienced Domestic Abuse.
Prior to qualifying as a counsellor, I had a long career in public service in secretarial and managerial roles. I have worked in various different areas and locations including overseas. I have experienced the stress that emerges in the workplace including bullying, work/life balance and time management.
